A Lunar Panorama

Filed under: astronomy, Astrophotography, Moon, Observation Journal — Ed @ 10:22 pm

Just a quick photo for tonight – I took 8 zoomed – in photos of the moon with my 20mm eyepiece and the 3X Barlow, which gave me enough detailed images to patch together a huge image. I composited the images in Photoshop and then used layer masking to smooth the edges. While not perfect, the image gives a large amount of detail. You can see a lot of crater detail of both large and small craters.

Also, I’ve now moved all of my images over to Flickr, where you can see larger versions of photos along with some photos I haven’t blogged about.
