A New Look

Filed under: Blog — Ed @ 1:09 pm

I decided I could use a bit more width and organization on the site. Since I’ve been posting a lot lately, I’ve noticed that the previous look didn’t work as well for me as I was hoping. I’m going to try this one out for a while and see how it does. Currently, the only issue I know of with it is that some of the photos won’t be shown completely if you shrink the browser width too much, but that happened on the other design as well.

Let me know if you run into anything or have any other suggestions. If this doesn’t work out, I’ll probably need to just go ahead and do my own CSS.

  1. You might want to mention on the about page that even though you’re new to stargazing, you’ve always been fascinated with space and were a camp councilor at Space Camp. It helps your reputation a little more.

  2. I like the new look, but more than that, I just hope you keep posting such cool images!

  3. DWord – okay – I have always been fascinated with space – ever since I first saw Star Wars. Actually before that – I remember for my sixth birthday (1976 – the year before Star Wars) I wanted a rocket ship on my cake. I also wanted Winnie the Pooh, but I’m not sure how that’s related… But yes, I was a counselor at Space Camp every summer from 1989 – 1993 as well as the fall and winter of 1992. I also did some lecturing, particularly on the history of the U.S. and Soviet Space Programs. I actually was supposed to go to the Soviet Union for them in 1992, but then there was a coup and they decided that probably wasn’t the best time to go…

Alice – thanks – I don’t think the new look is really all that beautiful, but it helps display more stuff easier. Perhaps I’ll dress it up in a couple weeks. But I’m definitely going to keep posting images. I’m having too much fun to stop.
