The Double Cluster in Perseus on 2/25/08

Last night brought clouds on and off so I only had a few minutes to view and I happened to be looking at the Double Cluster in Perseus. This is a great target in any telescope because of the concentration of stars. The two clusters were known in antiquity and were catalogued by Greek astronomers. They are not quite bright enough for me to see from my front yard, but are visible in locations with very dark skies. Because of the clouds, this was a relatively short exposure. I’ll try to get back to this again before long when there is better viewing and get a longer exposure.
