Saturn on 5/12/08

Tonight, most of the sky is starting to be washed out by the brightening Moon, but Saturn is still shining brightly – tonight just a couple of degrees from the Moon, making a nice triangle with Regulus and the Moon. This image does a decent job of showing what I’m seeing through the eyepiece, but the rings aren’t quite as clear. You can see a bit of cloud banding near the bottom of the image.
