Venus on 10/9/10

Filed under: astronomy, Astrophotography, Observation Journal, Venus — Ed @ 10:36 pm

Venus is getting very low on the horizon after sunset, so I had to set up when the sun was just behind my neighbor’s house to be able to image Venus. Venus is really, really large right now – larger in the scope than Jupiter (this image is taken at the same scale as my recent large Jupiter images. Because of Venus’s dense, reflective clouds, I can’t really see any detail. It’s a very large crescent right now.
